Mindy B’s Deli & Buzz Pedicabs Join Forces To Offer Lunch Delivery

Thursday, June 28, 2012

Two locally owned small businesses are partnering to offer a unique downtown service. Mindy B’s Deli, 828 Georgia Ave., and Buzz Chattanooga Pedicabs have joined forces to offer lunchtime delivery.

There will be a driver stationed at Mindy B’s Deli Monday through Friday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. dedicated to getting fresh local fare to customers quickly.

The delivery area includes Lindsey Street (just behind Mindy B’s) to Chestnut Street and from the Riverfront to Main Street. Both businesses will use social media to let followers know daily that the service is available.

Customers call Mindy B’s Deli at 521-7932, place their order, and pay by phone. The filled order will be handed off to a Buzz Pedicab driver who will then deliver lunch to your door for tips only.

What is in it for the two businesses? For Mindy B’s Deli, it is providing a service they have been unable to offer due to staffing. For Buzz Chattanooga Pedicabs, it is exposure. “It’s a win, win situation for both of us” said Chef Mindy. “We are excited to be out more during lunchtime, increase our advertisers’ exposure, and offer a green, downtown delivery service,” said Thor of Buzz Chattanooga Pedicabs.

“Buzz drivers work only for tips, so we ask that our customers treat them well, and remember they saved you a trip in this Chattanooga heat!” said Chef Mindy. The goal is for orders to be made and delivered within 30 minutes. Of course this depends on the size of the order and the volume of in-store customers.

“Luckily, we will be able to give the caller some idea of delivery time when they place their order,” said Chef Mindy.

Service will begin July 5

Pouty Cows

I recently read that seventy is the new forty or maybe the new thirty or maybe the new nine month old because if you aren’t already in diapers it shouldn’t be long. Every Sunday in the local paper they publish the weekly “Senior Menu”. If you thought school food was bad then this will make a visit from the grim Reaper like a walk in the park with the Easter Bunny. My favorite ... (click for more)

Kaylon Bailey, On Trial For First-Degree Murder, Was IDed By His Victim, Prosecutor Tells Jury

Doctors’ best efforts couldn't save 35-year-old Kima Evans’ life after he was ambushed and shot repeatedly on Jan. 13, 2012, prosecutors said Tuesday in Hamilton County Criminal Court.   But Evans hung on long enough to identify his killer, assistant district attorney Jason Demastus said.   The result, he said: Kaylon Sebron Bailey, 35, is on trial ... Highland Park Woman Helped Solve Mystery Of Gas Thief

Police said a Highland Park woman helped crack a mystery about a rash of recent gasoline thefts involving the cutting of expensive gas lines. Thomas Bouch was arrested after Bridgitte Brody told of looking out a window of her house last Thursday and seeing a white male standing by a 24-seat van at Tennessee Temple University. She said the man had a rubber tube near ... (click for more)

Replace Airport Authority Board Members - And Response

The public needs to intervene on the absolutely absurd Wilson Air Waste (WWW) at the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport.  What this all comes down to is our elected officials have appointed board members to oversee the budget and decision making at the airport, and they clearly do not respect public resources.   Contrary to the Airport Authority CEO’s statement ... Roy Exum: The Colonel: ‘Tell My Sons’

In the Broadway play, “The Civil War,” there is an emotional song called “Tell My Father,” the words that a dying Union soldier on a distant battlefield asked to be delivered when the other troops got back home. The reason Lt. Col. Mark Weber sang that very song with his oldest son Matt was because the highly-decorated officer was fighting Stage IV intestinal cancer at the ... (click for more)
