GNTC's Youth Success Academy Graduation Ceremony Is Dec. 13

Georgia Northwestern Technical College’s Youth Success Academy on the Floyd County Campus will hold a graduation ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 13, at 6:30 pm. The ceremony will take place in the Auditorium of Building A on the Floyd County Campus.

The Youth Success Academy is specifically designed for out of school youth that wish to attain a GED and a technical education. The graduates of the academy participated in: GED preparation, Survival Skills for Youth workshops, customer service workshops, career exploration activities, community service projects, and Reader’s Theater.

The WIA (Work Investment Act) Youth Success Academy is sponsored by the Coosa Valley Regional Development Commission’s Workforce Investment Act. In addition to GED preparation, the academy provides services of travel and childcare stipends to students between the ages of 16 to 21.  Students may come to the academy through agency referrals or self-referral.

Youth Success Academies are located on Georgia Northwestern’s Floyd and Walker county campuses.
