Mise En Scenesters will screen Leos Carax's "beautiful and bizarre" Holy Motors on Thursday. The screening will be followed by a performance by Mythical Motors.
Review for Holy Motors:
Join Monsieur Oscar on his rollicking, soulful journey by limousine through the streets of Paris as he transforms into multiple characters for a series of mysterious “appointments”. Melding monster movie, film noir, romantic drama, musical, crime thriller, anime, Léos Carax’s mirthful, mind-bending masterwork is a ravishing fever dream of becoming, unraveling and starting all over again.
Review for Mythical Motors:
Mythical Motors are a rock and roll band from Chattanooga. They've been playing since 2009 and the current lineup features Matt Addison - guitar and vocals, Johnny Wingo - guitar, Hollie Stockman - cello, Mike Brown - Bass and Brad Smith - drums. They have been called "Chattanooga's most dangerous band," "Chattanooga's answer to Guided By Voices," and have been compared to such films as Money Pit and Throw Mamma From The Train.
The event starts at 8:30 p.m. at Barking Legs Theater with the MES pre-show reel. Admission is $7 with credit and debit cards accepted.
