Niko's Southside Grill Closing Dec. 22

Niko's Southside Grill will be closing on Dec. 22 after over five years in operation on the Southside.

Another restaurant operation will be going in at the site that has been managed by Nick and Amy Kyriakidis of the family that operates the Acropolis near Hamilton Place Mall.

Niko's opened in May 2007 at the corner of 14th and Cowart streets.

It offered "an entirely new concept that blends the 'Flavors of the South with Tastes of the Mediterranean.'"

City To Begin Shipping Much Of Its Garbage To Bradley County

City Public Works Administrator Justin Holland said the city plans to begin shipping much of its garbage to Bradley County. He said the deal is projected to extend the life of the city landfill at Birchwood by 15 years.
