Niko's Southside Grill Closing Dec. 22

Niko's Southside Grill will be closing on Dec. 22 after over five years in operation on the Southside.

Another restaurant operation will be going in at the site that has been managed by Nick and Amy Kyriakidis of the family that operates the Acropolis near Hamilton Place Mall.

Niko's opened in May 2007 at the corner of 14th and Cowart streets.

It offered "an entirely new concept that blends the 'Flavors of the South with Tastes of the Mediterranean.'"

Signs this week have gone up announcing that a Crazy Buffet restaurant will be in the former Ryan's building in Hixson. Volkswagen To Build New 5-Passenger SUV In Chattanooga

Volkswagen officials announced Monday that they will build a new five-passenger SUV at the Chattanooga plant at the Enterprise South Industrial Park.
