Cleveland State Social Work Students Host Free Store At Apartment Complex

The Cleveland State Community College Social Work students organized and participated in a one-day free store event at a local apartment complex.  The Family and Children Services class, instructed by Jana Pankey, identified a community in need, created and distributed flyers, collected donations and organized the one day event in which residents of the apartment complex were able to come and shop for free while their children visited with Santa Claus and Jingles the Elf read stories to them. There were over 2,000 children's books donated, adult and children's clothing, toys, household items, furniture and coats were all distributed free of charge. Refreshments were donated by Subway Sandwich Shoppes and CiCi's Pizza.
