Robin Smith and Albert Waterhouse announced the pair will collaborate to form a new consulting agency, SmithWaterhouse Strategies, "driven by strategic thinking in public advocacy initiatives."

Officials said, "Maintaining a results-focused approach, SmithWaterhouse will offer a variety of services. The business model will be based upon strategic planning, message development, media training, reputation management, integrated marketing, public advocacy initiatives, political consulting and field operations. Lobbying will not be part of the agency’s purview."

“SmithWaterhouse will offer strategies and solutions to expand an individual, group or organization’s influence, visibility and reach to make positive impact in the minds of the public,” said Ms. Smith. . “We are able to harness decades of experience, bringing together the depth of our networks and successes.”

Ms. Smith is the founder and head of Rivers Edge Alliance, a firm providing project management and consulting with current clients in the sectors of health care, energy and nonprofit. She has worked on local, state and national political campaigns, including presidential, gubernatorial, congressional and county elections, for more than 25 years and is certified in project management through Stanford University.

With more than 30 years in the communications field, Mr. Waterhouse founded Waterhouse Public Relations, a full-service marketing communications firm with a local, regional and national client base, and has managed the agency since its inception in 1992.

The new business venture will be a separate entity from Rivers Edge Alliance and Waterhouse Public Relations.

“In a business and political climate where public policy has been paralyzed by extremes, SmithWaterhouse will bring a balance to the issues and results-oriented solutions that are in the best interest of everyone the spectrum,” said Mr. Waterhouse. “We look forward to filling an unmet need in the region.”
