GPS Fall Instrumental Music Concert Is Thursday

  • Thursday, November 29, 2012

The GPS Upper and Middle Schools will present the Fall Instrumental Music Concert, featuring the GPS Senior Orchestra, GPS McCallie Honors Orchestra and GPS Middle School Advanced Orchestra, on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the GPS Frierson Theatre.

The concert is dedicated in loving memory to Mr. Stephen Panchaud, director of McCallie Strings for over 10 years.  Mr. Panchaud passed away this fall at a young age after a sudden diagnosis of intestinal cancer.  He was dedicated to his many private students and to raising the level of performance of fine classical music with Honors Orchestra, in addition to his duties with the Chattanooga Symphony and freelancing.

His wife writes, “Please tell each of them (Mr. Panchaud’s students) how special they were to him.  He so enjoyed teaching his love of music to each one of them and would want them to know that he is now listening to the most beautiful music of all in heaven with his messiah, Jesus.  Much love,  Erika Panchaud."
