The Tennessee Departments of Tourist Development and Transportation, in partnership with state and local officials in six counties throughout East Tennessee, will officially launch the Tanasi Trail on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Museum Center at 5ive Points.
The 12th of 16 self-guided driving trails in the Discover Tennessee Trails & Byways program, the Tanasi will feature 125 tourism sites in Bradley, Hamilton, Loudon McMinn, Meigs, Monroe and Polk counties.
The Museum Center at 5ive Points is at 200 Inman St.
E., Cleveland, Tn. 37311.
The Tanasi Trail travels throughout East Tennessee, guiding tourists through communities brimming with iconic attractions and outdoor adventure from Chattanooga to Cleveland, Charleston to Benton and coming full circle from where the trail first begins.
Once on the trail, guests can explore rails, trails and roads, including early Native American footpaths. Some of the most picturesque panoramas are on the Tanasi, including Blue Ridge Mountains and five of the state’s most scenic rivers: Ocoee, Hiwassee, Tellico, Tennessee and Little Tennessee.
