Billy Ray Lowrance, 54, of Chickamauga, died on Tuesday, February 10, 2009.

Billy was an avid musician and member of the Millwee Hollow Band and was well-known in the Chattanooga area.

Survivors include his daughters, Sondra Pelham, Tonya Nabors, both of Rossville, Jennifer Lowrance of Nashville; parents, Charles and Frances (Anderson) Lowrance of Chickamauga; brothers, Charles D., Allen, Jimmy, and Eddie Lowrance; sisters, Patty Ligon, Sandy Lowrance, grandchildren, Mitchell, Chandler, Raylee Nabors, and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on 2 p.m. on Friday, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Chickamauga City Cemetery.

His family will receive friends after 3 p.m. on Thursday, and prior to the service Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association.

Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.

EPB Seeks 3.5% Rate Increase; First Since 2011

EPB on Friday morning asked its board of directors to consider a 3.5 percent rate increase to monthly electric power charges for customers, effective July 1. New CARTA Service To Enterprise South Industrial Park Has "Medium" Success So Far

CARTA officials said its new bus service from downtown to the Enterprise South Industrial Park is meeting with "medium" success thus far.
